Palin, Obama approval rating catching up

,

Who knew quitting a governorship and writing a tell-all would make people love you.

Love may be a bit strong, but according to this Los Angeles Times blog Top of the Ticket, Sarah Palin’s approval rating is about to be on par with President Barack Obama.

The blogger acknowledges though that it does depend on how you look at, how “questions are phrased” and “which recent set of poll numbers” you choose to believe.

Obama’s approval rating is now at 48 or 49 percent.

Palin, who appeared on Oprah last week to a historically large audience of home viewers and is currently on a media blitz book tour for her new book “Going Rogue,” has an approval rating of 43 percent, according to an ABC poll.

President Barack Obama Celebrates Cinco de Mayo a day early

,

President Barack Obama intends to celebrate the traditional Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo on May 4. While in the East Room of the White House, Obama joked that he intended to celebrate the “Cautro de Mayo.” He is currently hosting Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan.

Unfortunately, Obama’s Spanish isn’t very good. First he said “Cinco de Cuatro,” and a second attempt at Spanish pronunciation failed as well. Fortunately for the Presidential joker, Obama still got a lot of laughs.

Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is NOT Mexican Independence Day. The holiday actually commemorates an important military victory against occupying French troops on May 5, 1862 in the state of Puebla. On this day, Mexicans honor the stunning triumph of an outnumbered and under-equipped Mexican army over an invading French force. The victory did not prevent the French from conquering Mexico and installing an emperor, but it did delay the occupation of Mexico City. The actual Mexican Independence Day falls on September 16.

Obama Switches to Republican Party

,

In a move sending shock waves across world President Barack Obama announced he is switching his party affiliation to the Republican Party.

“Effective 10 A.M., April 1st, I am no longer a Democrat,” President Obama said at a press conference at the G-20 Summit in London. “After reviewing the economic stimulus package, as well as all the projects that I have initiated, I am stunned at how enormous the government has become.”

Mr. Obama also added that after listening to broadcasts from Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, he was convinced that he was taking the country in a wrong direction.

“I hate to say this, but Rush and Sean are right,” said the President. “We can’t let the country slide into socialism. I mean, first I legalize stem cell research, earmark billions to green energy initiatives, and ban torture. These actions can only lead to one thing: Soviet-style gulags.”

The President went further. “After meticulously studying the platform and principles of the Republican Party, I’m convinced that tax cuts and teaching intelligent design in schools are the only things that can save America.”

In another shocking revelation, Mr. Obama admitted that was not in fact, born in the United States. “I am a natural born citizen of Lichtenstein,” Mr. Obama said. “As I am not constitutionally qualified to be President, effective 11 A.M. April 1, I shall resign the Presidency of the United States.”

Barack Obama Putting Top Priority on the Economy

In the face of intensifying recession, America puts its trust in Barack Obama, hopeful in what he can do to make the much-needed change. An article from CNN titled “Obama: Stimulating Economy Top Priority” reports that stimulating the economy is the top priority of President-elect Barack Obama.

This term is definitely a very challenging tenure for any president to handle because this is a make-or-break success story for America. However, one man alone cannot make this possible; Obama needs the support of everyone. It’s time to put an end to discrimination and vested interests and work as one nation.

President-elect Barack Obama is quickly learning what many former leaders already know: It’s lonely at the top.

Obama told CBS’ Steve Kroft on “60 Minutes” Sunday evening that he’s already been warned by former presidents about the loneliness and isolation that comes with being the man in charge.

“[A]ll of them recognize there’s a certain loneliness to the job,” said Obama. “That, you know, you’ll get advice and you’ll get counsel. Ultimately, you’re the person who’s gonna be making decisions. And I think that, even now, you know, I -– you can already feel that fact.”
