Stars line up to Feed the Children

, , , , , ,

Here at BuzzMashr, we urged our readers to Give a Goat to Feed the Children, a great organization helping hungry children from Haiti to Kenya and beyond.

While searching around for more info on Feed The Children, we discovered there are a lot of stars supporting Feed the Children.

None other than Eric “Poncherello” Estrada and our personal favorite James Bond Sir Roger Moore (sorry, Sean) have given their testimonials for this awesome charity. Other stars who are lending a hand to Feed the Children include the king of morning news Bryant Gumble and Hannah Montana’s dad Billy Ray Cyrus.

They’re all members of Friends of Feed the Children, a non-political grass roots committee that supports the activities of Feed The Children and endorses their fund-raising efforts.

Other superstars supporting Feed the Children include second man on the moon Buzz Aldrin, Monkees drummer Mickey Dolenz, Harvey and Kumar’s buddy Neil Patrick Harris, and George Constanza himself, Jason Alexander. That’s some pretty fast company helping Feed The Children!

Have a Heart and Give a Goat with Feed The Children

, ,

When it comes to charity and generosity, a goat might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But believe it or not, this humble dairy animal is a precious commodity in many developing countries such as Kenya. Through Feed the Children and other charities, the donation of one goat can mean the difference between an impoverished family starving or starting on the road to recovery.

In Kenya, child malnutrition is a widespread problem. A recent drought hit the east African country hard, wiping out cattle everywhere. To aggravate the problem further, livestock such as goats produce the natural fertilizers needed for crops. The recent political violence after a disputed election only added to the misery.

Many families in Kenya eat only one meal a day. Because so many goats died off in the drought, many families have to do without nutritious milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and meat. Many people also lost a sustainable source of income, as families can sell off the goats’ kids.

Charitable organizations such as Feed the Children, DanChurchAid, and The Southern Baptist World Hunger Fund have recognized how important goats are to these needy families. At the Feed the Children website, you can contribute directly to this worthy fund. If you donate $60, Feed the Children can give a family a literal lifeline: a healthy, food and income producing goat. $120 allows Feed The Children to provide goats to two families.
